#S3 is an original Gomm design. The second 'badge' is a bit of oddity - no enamel and no fixing on the back - I have been told that it is a protype designed to test out the design of the badge before doing a production run.

Arbroath are known as the 'The Red Lichties' due to the red lights that used to guide fishing boats back from the North Sea to Arbroath harbour.

Forfar Athletic

Forfar Athletic were not part of the original Gomm production run although they were a well established Scottish league club at the time. These badges were both produced in 2026 as part of a retro set of Gomm badges. Check out the MacBalls page on this site to see the series. There is also a Facebook page here.

Forfar traditionally wore Dark Blue and Light Blue but from 1955-1967 wore Green and White. See a bit of Forfar's kit history here.

Hamilton Academicals

Heart of Midlothian

Of the Heart of Midlothian set only #S17 is an original Gomm design. The others are from a reproduction set produced in April 2016. All the reproduction badges have a horizontal brooch fitting and are the same size as original Gomm badges. The set was produced in both Chrome and Gilt versions. Montrose

Montrose Football Club’s nickname 'The Gable Endies' comes from the architecture of the town. In traditional Scottish architecture, a gable end is the triangular wall section at the end of a pitched roof, a feature of many of the houses in the town.

Rangers

Of this Rangers set of Gomm badges only #S27 is the original Gomm design. The League Champions badges are the same size as the original Gomm badges and the remaining four badges are about 2/3 size of original Gomm badges with butterfly fitting and made with a Gilt finish.

Stenhousemuir
